Wolverine got brainwashed by his arch nemesis into becoming a Marvel villain, though it only worked because of Wolverine's SCANDALOUS past.

Marvel Comics fans have always known that Wolverine has a sparkling past. He'll even admit that he’s “the best there is” at what he does. One couldn't get that reputation by being a bleeding heart superhero their whole life. 

But, as for Wolverine’s case, he managed to turn his SCANDALOUS life around when he joined the X-Men. Now, Logan’s worst nightmare has become real, as he’s brainwashed into becoming a Marvel villain.
